Concern for Aster – UPDATE September 7, 2013

Aster holds up left pawAster holds up left pawAster had been putting on the miles recently, so when her GPS readings clustered in one area yesterday we took notice.  Early this morning she moved 0.7 miles and then settled down again.  We sent Jim and Lorie out to check on her.

They found her bedded in a cedar swamp.  Instead of coming to them, she got up and moved away—hopping along on 3 legs.  Aster has been injured.  She’s holding up her left front paw.  At this time we are unsure of the extent of her injury or the cause—however, it does not appear to be life-threatening.  Jim and Lorie changed her GPS batteries so we will be able to monitor her from afar as she begins to heal.

Thank you for all you do.
