Ursula checks on cubsAgain, with an hour of shooting time left this evening, the 8 bears with GPS units are showing movement.
As another step toward kinder and gentler treatment of bears, we are conducting an experiment with an inventor of an improvement in the cruel ‘unwelcome mat’ that some people put out to keep animals from doors or windows. The old version has nails sticking up that penetrate the foot and possibly cause infection. The new version won’t do that, but more refinement is needed on the prototype we're working with.
The photo is of gentle Ursula standing up to check on her cubs. The sun caught her eyes beautifully and showed how the ribbons and plastic strips stand out.
Thank you for all you do.
