Not Sure – UPDATE February 17, 2013

Lily and the mound of bedding.Lily and the mound of bedding.Lily cooperated by lowering the great barrier mound so we can see the cubs when they poke their heads out of her fur.  But we’re not sure if we’re seeing a tiny slit of eye opening yet, or not.  During REM sleep, we can see the eyeballs going crazy under the eyelids, and we see a dark line where the slit should be.  But is dark what we would see to signify an opening?  Lily's cub emergingCub emerging from Lily's fur.Or would we see white eye shine reflecting the infra-red camera lights?  All we know is that at times, the sleepy cubs show a thin dark line where the opening should be.  We’ll see if this dark line gets wider or if we will suddenly see eye shine and are sure.  A video of Lily and her cubs is posted at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw8iwr8QVqI

Thank you for all you do.
