Maybe the world does revolve around Ely, Minnesota!No real update again except that Jo and Victoria continue to baffle us with their combination of den checks, resting, and travel. Why don’t they settle down? We want them tucked into dens and not traveling the woods with deer hunting starting tomorrow. We know deer hunters are unlikely to shoot bears, but we’d feel better if they were in a den like the other radio-collared research bears. Jo is especially valuable with her trusting and gentle temperament.
Your response to last night’s non-update and our mention of blastomycosis was amazing. You sleuthed out what it was and came up with a lot of good information. Research is better with many minds participating!
Lynn returned from Duluth this afternoon to a surprise on the Bear Center thermometer. Your donations and the $2,000 from the silent auction at the annual gathering of Lily fans at Hinckley, MN, brought the remaining debt down to $11,449. We say “Thank you!” for this boost!
