BBs found
Today, while giving June her antibiotics, we and a Minneapolis police officer scanned her body with an airport-type hand-held metal detector. Four BB’s were found before June walked off. One was in her left elbow. One was between her anterior breasts. Two were on her left side/abdomen. The BB we had felt earlier in her left eyebrow has worked its way out and the swelling has gone down. The BB in her eye has either worked its way out or is too deep to detect. We will examine her further in future visits.
Her eye continues to look encouraging.
We didn’t get a signal from Braveheart—she’s off wandering again—but we know the other GPSed bears are safe.
A good Lily fan let us know that the Minnesota Education Association and the Minnesota Federation of Teachers merged long ago and the “new” name of the organization representing 70,000 teachers where we will be speaking on October 20 is now called Education Minnesota. Thank you.

We thank Lily fan Rebecca J. Todd for directing her memorials to the North American Bear Center http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/sheboyganpress/obituary.aspx?n=rebecca-j-todd&pid=152900845. Our heartfelt sympathies to her family.
Another good Lily fan put together pictures of the good time meeting Lily fans at the Lilypad Picnic and set it to Pat Surface’s new song “Bearwalker.” Many thanks for this pleasant memory www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACgl2I3uy6E.

We just heard that Lily fans submitted 25,916 constructive comments to help us toward the future as part of the 6,814 surveys we received. This could take us awhile to read, remembering how long it took to read a much smaller number of birthday cards last year. Thank you so much for this help that comes from the bottoms of your hearts. We are looking forward to each comment.
Thank you for all you do.
