Braveheart Re-collared

Bow_and_female_cub_-_20110731A sighting of 3 cubs in Braveheart’s territory led to Braveheart being re-collared.  She is the only bear with 3 cubs in that vicinity.  She was her usual sweet self.

June moved several miles in the last 2 days making it a trek to get antibiotics to her.  We’re now halfway through the 10-day treatment schedule.

All the bears are fine except for June’s eye.  No bear should be shot in the face and blinded.

Picture left is of 5-year-old Bow and her female cub.

In a couple hours, the survey will end at 11:45 PM CT.  6,784 surveys have been received.  To beat the deadline, go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/7S5B2GZ .

To vote for Soudan Underground Mine State Park, go to http://www.livepositively.com/#/americasparks/leaderboard and vote over and over.  We’re over a million votes, if you can believe it!  The contest closes September 6th.

Thank you to the anonymous person who stepped up and pledged the full amount for a metal detector.  As a result, the special fundraiser for that was unnecessary and was cancelled.

Thank you for all you do.
