Ted on Alert - UPDATE March 29, 2017

In the middle of last night, a Lily Fan caught Ted on nervous alert in this 7-minute video. https://youtu.be/acz5vwLjv2Y.  Something alerted him. TedTed on alertHe rose to his haunches, halfway out of his den, ears forward, opening his mouth repeatedly to use his vomeronasal organ to learn anything that airborne molecules could tell him. He frequently licked nervously. I don’t know what it could have been.

Children waiting for bear talkChildren waiting for bear talkToday, 180 kindergartners had a treat when our Director of Education used her enthusiastic kid-friendly teaching skills to talk to them and answer questions about black bear hibernation, birth of cubs, cub care in the den, coming out of the den, and the first foods of spring.

Thank you for all you do.
