Quill, Tasha, Party, Nature - UPDATE October 23, 2016
Quill came as I was leaving last night. He was eating walnuts as I left but this morning the bowl of Hope Formula was empty (1 quart).
I turned out the inside lights so he wouldn't notice me standing on the far side of the room watching him. He couldn't go more than 5 seconds without looking at me in the dark. Tonight, I walked through that room with the lights on. He could see me easily and didn't look nervous. I've noticed the same thing with deer being more nervous when they couldn't see me well.Tasha's den |
Tasha has a mind of her own when it comes to dens. After doing everything she could to lead us to believe she was choosing the den Holly made a couple years ago, Tasha went into her enclosure and is digging a new one. I think the new sandy one will be more comfortable, actually. Maybe Tasha knows best.
The annual free Halloween Party at the Bear Center was yesterday and looked fun.
Last evening, a deer with nice light on its face noticed me in the window.
The memory from today is seeing the little female pine marten go by my window. I grabbed the camera and opened the door slowly. She appeared. Pine martens are known for being tame. I thought she would run but she came to me looking at my eyes and then looking at my black sock as she came a couple steps through the door to sniff my big toe. I don't know why she then backed away. I think it was to go downstairs and take a bite of date mash and jump up on a platform to eat it.

Thank you for all you do.
