All Seems Well – UPDATE September 3, 2013
With shooting hours over, our 8 GPSed bears are ‘on the map’ and transmitting recent locations. All seems well.
Just before sunset, June and her 2-year-old daughter Aster converged on the same bait site. Aster quickly moved away—perhaps routed by her mother—and now June has moved away as well. The GPS readings keep us on the edge of our seats when they show bears at bait sites, but provide some relief when they show bears moving away.
A couple gunshots earlier today turned out to be a nice family shooting clay pigeons.
Berries are disappearing in the woods, and Faith has moved back to the edge of her mother Lily’s territory. We wonder if she’ll visit a feeding station. To our knowledge, no one except those of us who tend to her GPS unit has seen her this year. She is still 1.6 miles from the nearest residence.
Donna Rogers’ flowers are looking spectacular at the Bear Center. Some have giant blossoms. Some have many blossoms. We know the effort that went into beautifying the entrance.
The supper here was delicious thanks to donations from Lily Fans and the talent of those who cooked tonight.
Thank you for all you do.
