Finally, Cubs!! - UPDATE June 2, 2021

Chloe's brown cubChloe's brown cub

The highlight of the week was 3-year-old Chloe, daughter of RC, granddaughter of Shadow, walking into view with two male cubs—one black and one brown. We’d been waiting since May 28, 2020 to see what her cubs would look like. On that day, she mated with a dark brown male that we didn’t know at the time. We named him Rusty, which explains the color of Chloe’s brown cub.

Chloe behaved like an experienced mother, putting the rush on bears that came too close to her dear ones.

The black cub weighed 14 pounds and the brown one 15 and a half.

We’re looking forward to seeing them grow through the summer. Also looking for names.

We’re also looking forward to seeing other mothers, especially Lily.

Thank you for all you do.
