Wolves and a Wonderful Sighting - UPDATE December 23, 2019

Tracks showed that wolves were by today. The pictures show a track and where one of the wolves urinated in the snow a little to the left of the middle of the picture.

But that news paled at 3:30 PM when Stripe the Mink showed up exactly a month after she started making me worry by not coming. The last time I saw her before today was November 23. Today, she was the same as ever. She was good to come back at 4:08 PM for a picture, but she hid half her head for one and sniffed the lens to make only a blur for the other before saying she had enough bologna and wouldn’t pose anymore. She made my day. Winter is a little brighter.

Stripe’s appearance today gave me a little hope that Clear might show up again, too. Clear was gone over the summer and early fall and then showed up on October 25, the day before fur trapping started; and he hasn’t been seen since. The timing has me worried.

Stripe showed up shortly after trapping started and came regularly until November 23. I feel relieved to see her.

I’d like to see the old foxes, too.

Thank you for all you do.
