Great Day - UPDATE July 22, 2019

Not much for pictures, but imagine a day with One-eyed Jack, Ty, Pete, Lucy, Daisy, Ricky, Aspen, RC, Carter, Crackle, Blondie, CarterCarterand several others. Lucy evidently has lost her cub(s), maybe the same as Lily almost did in 2010. We’ll see if Lucy has another litter this coming January. One-eyed Jack still has his shoulder wound but a nurse sniffed it, saying that if there is no smell, there is no infection, and she smelled nothing. Little Carter took refuge up a white pine when the bear traffic exceeded his confidence. Daisy likely still has her three cubs from her behavior, but we didn’t see them to learn their sexes yet. RC is eating like she wants to have 4 cubs like some of the others this year. Food might be waning in the woods; the bears seemed hungry. The group spotted a lot of raspberries today on the way to a den, but raspberries are not something bears can efficiently pick.

Thank you for all you do.
