Battered and Bruised, the Males Trickle In - UPDATE July 12, 2019

With mating season over, males are showing up. Crackle with new injuryCrackle with new injury

Victor (18 to 20 years old) made it through another winter and has been seen. This bear that was beautiful and unmarked when he was young must have taken on some scrappy bears in mating seasons and shows it.

Today, gentle 15-year-old Crackle made his first appearance and has a big deep gash that probably took some of the big biting muscle on his left forehead. The bright spot on his right eye is something we want to check out whenever we see him in person. When we say gentle, we mean with people. Comes mating season and peak testosterone, they can be brave when it comes to beating the competition for mates.

We are happy that old One-eyed Jack is back and is his same old self but with a new wound to his left shoulder.

Thank you for all you do.
