Distracted - UPDATE February 27, 2019

A chickadee saw me sitting at my desk typing with the camera at my side, and had to pause and show off the nice sunflower seed heart it found. I helplessly clicked.ChickadeeChickadee

Red squirrelRed squirrelA red squirrel stopped and looked pensive. That got another click.

Then a common redpoll flew up onto big mound of snow that is as high as the window. She spotted a seed in the snow and looked right at me as she began chewing it using the sharp point near the base of her lower bill that has snow on it.

Then, after being ordered on the phone by Judy McClure to type text for a pictureCommon redpollCommon redpoll going up on an upper wall, the fox came up on that mound of snow and looked in the window, telling me it was time to go over to the door with bologna. Judy wasn’t here to stop me, so I did what the fox was telling me.Gray foxGray fox I got up and he jumped down and watched me through the door window as I opened the little refrigerator door, got out the package of bologna, and showed it to him through the window. He always moves off a few feet as I open the door. I tried snapping a picture with my little camera as he took it. It’s a little blurry, but I noticed for the first time that his pupil is a vertical oval shape. Maybe it was just the angle. I’ll have to keep an eye out to be sure.

Thank you for all you do.
