Ted - UPDATE October 7, 2018

Yesterday afternoon just before 4 PM, Ted raked a bed of cedar mulch and lay down as shown in this 2:42-minute videoTedTed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xb9ZjO_3KJg.

This morning he was still in the same position as he was at the end of the video.  Nothing could get him up. Sharon and I went in to see him.  I put my face close to him and he gave his sweet, high-pitched grunts of greeting and licked my face, but he would not get up. Then Sharon spotted a big abscess on his chin.  The abscess was starting to leak, which is what made it visible.  We made an emergency call to the vet who then came and examined him and put him on 900mg. of Clavamox 2 times a day.

SharonSharon gives the thumbs upYesterday, Ted ate only half his food.  With the abscess draining and the antibiotic working, Ted was up walking this afternoon, giving everyone a sigh of relief for our beloved Ted.  Sharon was observant to notice that something was wrong, and she and Scott were on top of this in getting the vet there as soon as possible, making me thankful for our good staff.

I know pond chatters were watching, too, except when the vet asked the staff to turn off the camera.

The nice picture of Ted here was taken by Sharon a few days ago.

Thank you for all you do.
