Changing Seasons - UPDATE October 5, 2018

Following yesterday’s picture perfect day of reds, yellows, and green, I awoke to two inches of snow and new migrant birds. Doe and fawn sharingDoe and fawn sharingOut the window, rusty blackbirds, distinguished by both males and females having yellow eyes, are replacing the yellow-rumped warblers that have been everywhere the last couple weeks. White-crowned sparrows have also appeared.

A doe and fawn showed a nice spirit of sharing and reminded me of my old days of walking with deer to learn habitat use.

The snow mostly disappeared by the end of this day in the 30’s.

Darkness brought bears. Out the window at this moment, Kimani and her three cubs are eating themselves plump in the rain on Lily Fan food. Thank you. Another of the cubs was licking water off his sibling’s fur.
