At the Bear Center, construction was humming as a giant crane lifted steel beams and girders into position. The multitude of construction workers scurried around—each knowing their place and exactly what to do for the work to proceed smoothly and efficiently.
We got to see little of what was going on in either den because of writing and meetings. Kind of a lost day as far as bears go. But seeing the pictures of the beams going up on this beautiful, mild (1F) day gave a jolt of excitement about the future and what the Hope Learning Center will do for bears.

Jewel went on alert last night about 1:00 AM CT to a noise outside her den. We were not able to identify the odd buzz she heard. A video of Jewel and her yearlings is posted atThank you for all you do.
